TN SAVIN \ VINE - Victim Information & Notification

The Tennessee Sheriff's Association and the Sumner County Sheriff's Office
believe victims have a right to know.

The Tennessee Statewide Automated Victim Information and Notification Service

This service will tell you if an offender is in jail and will give you other important custody information. It will also let you leave a phone number where you want to be called automatically when that offender is released, transferred, or escapes.

  1. Call 1-888-868-4631 from a touch tone phone and follow the instructions. TTY/TDD users can call 1-866-847-1298. A TTY/TDD operator will assist you in registering to receive updates about a specific offender. You can also register for notification at
  2. If the offender is in jail, you can leave your phone number to be called when the offender is released, transferred, or escapes. Enter the phone number where you want to be reached, including area code, followed by the pound (#) key.
  3. When the service asks, create and enter a four digit Personal Identification Number (PIN) that will be easy for you to remember. The service will ask for the PIN when it calls you.
  4. When the service calls, listen to the message then enter your PIN when asked. Entering the PIN lets the service know that you received the call, and will stop the service from calling you again.
  • The offender will not know you are registered with this service.
  • If you are not home, the service will leave a message on an answering machine. If there is no answer, the service will continue to call for up to 48 hours or until you enter your PIN.
  • Since the service calls automatically when an offender's custody status changes, you may get a call from the service in the middle of the night.
  • Do not leave a phone number with the service that rings to a switchboard.
  • Do not depend only on this service or any other single program for your protection. Make this service part of your safety plan.
  • You can leave more than one phone number with this service.
  • You can also register for notification online at
