Inmate Mail

The mail is delivered to the jail on a daily basis Monday – Friday excluding holidays. The mail is searched by jail staff for contraband. If contraband is found, the staff member will prepare a rejection notice and forward it to the inmate. The letter may be mailed back to the sender depending on the contraband. All letters from attorneys and government officials should be clearly marked as such and will be searched in the presence of the inmate prior to delivery. No reading materials such as newspapers, magazines or hard back books will be accepted or delivered to inmates.

No packages should be sent to inmates without prior approval of the Jail Administrator. Packages of a legal nature or containing approved items for inmates that have no local means of receiving the approved monthly items will be considered on a case by case basis.
