In Sumner County, there have been fatal car accidents in which a small child survives but the child is not of the age to communicate their parent’s names, address or phone number.
W.H.A.L.E. (We Have A Little Emergency) is a nationwide safety identification program that provides stickers and identification tags for child restraint seats to help emergency services personnel identify the child and who to contact in the event that the adult driver of the vehicle is unable to communicate due to their injuries and/or death.
The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office, The Sumner County Emergency Medical Services Office and the GFWC Woman's Club of Hendersonville are presently visiting with the civic clubs and other organizations in Sumner County to promote awareness of the W.H.A.L.E. program.
Any group interested in receiving information or having a presentation made are encouraged to contact Sheriff Bob Barker at (615) 442-1821 or bobbarker@sumnersheriff.com
