The Sumner County Sheriff’s Office employees are protected under Civil Service. In order to be considered for a position with the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office one must first take and pass the Civil Service Exam.
With the exception of Correctional Officer positions we give our Civil Service Exam only once a year. Our last test was January 11, 2014. We will not be testing for any position other than Correctional Officer until next January. However, you may come by and fill out an application (or print a copy of the one provided on the website and drop it off) and you will be placed on a list to be called when our next exam is scheduled.
If you are interested in a Correctional Officer position, we do test for Corrections several times throughout the year. We do not have a test scheduled at this time. But as stated above, you may fill out an application and you will be notified when the next Corrections test has been scheduled.
If you have any other questions regarding employment with the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office please contact Jennifer Wiser at 615-442-1848 or by email at email@example.com
